Charlie Chaplin's "The Circus" (1928) Secrets
The storyline in the movie reveals this. Chaplin’s tramp falls in like with Merna, who returns his affection. Then, a tightrope walker named Rex (played by Henry Bergman) arrives on to the scene and Merna quickly falls in really like with him. Why? For the reason that his act is daring and unsafe whilst Chaplin’s clown act has much less Status.
